Request for Leave During Term Time

The Secretary of State for Education has decided that from September 1st 2013 Headteachers shall not be able to grant leave of absence during term time, unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Missing School – A pupil’s absence during term time can seriously disrupt their continuity of learning.  Not only do they miss the teaching provided on the days they are away, they are also less prepared for the lessons building on that after their return.  There is a consequent risk of under-achievement which we, and you, must seek to avoid.

Please ensure that you let us know before the start of the school day if your child is going to be absent for any reason.
