Wanted Governors For Harwell Primary School
Harwell Primary school was judged good in all areas at the last OFSTED inspection ( May 2017) and continues to improve. This is partly due to a strong governing body. Governors sit on the Governing body for four years and there will be vacancies during this academic year. We are looking for people who are passionate about the education of the children at Harwell school and who have time and energy to give to the school.
The purpose of Governance is to provide confident strategic leadership and create robust accountability. The functions are to ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction; hold education leaders to account and oversee the financial performance of the organisation making sure that money is well spent.
The Governing body consists of 13 individuals who come from a variety of backgrounds and bring a range of skills. They are willing to undertake more specific Governor training. We are particularly looking for people with skills in the HR field. However, we are also looking for people who value education and are willing to become part of a forward looking team. Being a governor at Harwell Primary is a rewarding experience, working as part of a friendly and committed team and providing opportunities for personal and professional development.
